Join us for an evening of music exploring devotion, desire, and the many forms that love can take.

The La Verne Symphony Orchestra is pleased to host soprano Thalia Moore in Devotion and Desire: Theme and Variations on Love, a very special recital featuring pianist Austine Shu and guest artist Ayanna Lewis.

Through music that is tender, passionate, playful, and profound, these artists will explore love in its many expressions. The program features works by Francis Poulenc, William Grant Still, Rosephanye Powell, H. Leslie Adams, Richard Strauss, Erik Satie, Ernest Chausson, Undine Smith Moore, H. T. Burleigh, and more!

Come join us as we discuss love and the various forms it takes!

LVSO Fall Concert!

Our fall concert is scheduled for Nov 21, 2026 at 3pm

The opening concert will feature music of “Americana” - classic music of the United States of America as our Semiquincentennial (250th) commemoration continues.

Repertoire includes selections from all over the USA, from the founding years through present time. 

Rehearsals begin Thursday August 20th. We meet from 7pm - 9pm  in Founders Hall, and Morgan Auditorium on the University of La Verne Campus.   Musicians are expected to arrive by 6:50pm to get set-up. 

Musicians - there is still time to join the orchestra! (Contact Dr. Mann for information)

We're actively seeking more musicians - especially violinists and violists to play with La Verne Symphony Orchestra! 

Concertmaster Auditions are open

We are a community orchestra welcoming volunteer musicians of all ages and backgrounds. To join as a new volunteer section violinist or violist, just send us a short bio and provide your contact information.  Then plan to join us (audition not required for section players to join - but may be needed after joining for placement.  Rehearsals begin Thursday August 20th.

We meet on Thursdays  in Founders Hall, and Morgan Auditorium on the University of La Verne Campus.  Rehearsals are held from 7-9pm. (Please arrive by 6:50pm for set-up)

Concertmaster is an auditioned position. Auditions for concertmaster are primarily via video submission, Just send us a short bio and a video of you playing two contrasting pieces—which could be a concerto, other solo piece, or orchestral excerpts. If you are unable to send a video, contact us by email to arrange an in-person audition.

PARKING: Street parking is available on Third Street (Sometimes it is crowded, so allow some time to find a spot). The parking lots do require permits, which are available by scanning the sign and using the parking app.
